FIVE FAMOUS PLACES IN ONE DAY!!! PARNASSUS MOUNTAIN ARRAY: ANTIQUE DELPHI, OSIOS LOUKAS MONASTERY, ARACHOVA AND LIVADIA TOWNS

PARNASSUS MOUNTAINS (gr. Παρνασσός) – mountain array in Greece. North from Gulf of Corinth. Height of this array of limestone mountains is 2457 m. It is largest and most beautiful mountain array of middle region of Greece.
ANTIQUE DELPHI – archeological monument and city in modern Greece, southwest from mountain of Parnassus, in Fokida valley.  Delphi oracle lived in Delphi sanctuary, most famous oracle of classic Greek world and this was main place of worshiping Apollo. Delphi was considered center of the world by the Greeks. This place is surrounded by oldest, antique olive grove. When visiting Delphi you will witness amazing views of antique cities and nature and will gain lot of good energy, because Delphi is one of seven world places known for strong and good cosmic energy.
OSIOS LOUKAS MONASTERY. It is older than thousand years. It is dedicated to clairvoyant St. Lucas (906 m – 940 m) who had ability to heal people. This monastery is famous for its architecture and is considered to be one of most important monuments of byzantine Greek. In this monastery you will see byzantine architecture, cannons from ottoman times, smell the wonderful plants of Helicons slope and regain the calmness of your soul.
ARACHOVA. Most famous town of Parnassus hill, high on the top of the mountain and surrounded by nature. During wintertime – skiing resort, famous for its vibrant nightlife, various taverns, restaurants and luxurious hotels. It is less active during summer, but still full of tourists and especially people who come to Parnassus mountain hikes. Arachova is famous for its wine, cheese, homemade pasta and most flavorful collections of spices gathered on the slopes of this mountain.  Here you’ll have a chance to buy various souvenirs, colorful cotton and natural wool carpets. Also you’ll be able to purchase high quality and affordable for coats, fur hats, gloves made from various furs: bison, chinchilla, lynx, wolf, fox, rabbit and sheep.
LIVIADA – city in mountainous region of central Greece. Center of Boeotia. Located at the base of mountain Helicon, it has many successions from Ottoman Empire and church of thousand steps, which we’ll have to climb to see astonishing vista of Livada city.

THINGS YOU WILL SEE DURING THIS EXCURSION:
Parnassus Mountain array: Antique Delphi, Osios Loukas Monastery, Arachova and Livadia towns
During this expedition there will be a lot of walking and climbing on slippery steps and cliffs. Please wear light and comfortable shoes and clothes. Entrance to monastery is prohibited for women who wear very short skirts or shorts and naked shoulders. Men also have to cover their shoulders.
Excursion will take about 12 hours, including 8 hours of walking. During the excursion we’ll travel about 500 km by car.Excursion information will be provided in Lithuanian, Russian and English languages.

DEPARTURE/ARRIVAL, PLACE AND TIME OF EXCURSION

Participants of excursion must gather at the entrance to the hotel on agreed time.  After excursion they will be transported back to the hotel.
